Seller on Ebay has created a DCH bulb, but instead of the original square lamp he/she has put a compatible bulb with a 2-pin base (like you see on DNE bulbs) and attached it to the square base(4-pin G17-q) so it can be used in older 8mm projectors. Do you think these are safe to use?

Brad
Is this it?

I see that the seller also offers a 1500 hours version at a higher price.

Yeah.....I think I'll pass. At the very bottom of the description is a disclaimer-affadavit explaining that by purchasing the lamp you forfeit your right to litigation should you suffer loss, injury or death. In other words, insert lamp - turn on projector and pray to Mary, Mother of Mercy, that you don't have an explosion. The idea is novel, I'll give them that, but until it's been endorsed by GE, OSRAM or some other big dog in the lighting industry I'm in no hurry to make the Mrs. a widow or my 2 young daughters (8 & 14) fatherless.
