I have a pair of Super8 Sound recorders that I'm thinking of selling. Can someone give me an idea of their worth?

What are they John?
Can you post some images here please?

They sound like reel to reel recorders modified to take Super 8 full coat to me.

Taking a hint from Brian, I have found this recorder. I wonder if this is what John is enquiring about?

Nice interesting post Maurice, thanks for this one here!
We wait to see if this is something like what John is referring to here. [Wink]

After looking further into Full Coat sound on Super 8mm, I stumbled upon this on Wikipedia..

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_8_film

I don't know who supplied the following passage of reference information but believe me, it is complete nonsense...

" Although the optical sound should have been inferior in quality to magnetic sound (running at 3.6 inches per second for 24 frames per second), in practice it was often much better, largely because packaged movie magnetic sound was often poorly recorded."

Even the poorest recorded magnetic stripe beats the best optical sound tracks on eight that I have ever heard unless the stripe was actually falling off.

Sorry for the delay...Maurice's link is exactly what I have. I'll try to attach some photos here.

Oops...the file size limit here is 200K, all my photos are around 4MB in size. So I don't know how I can downsize them that much, the 200K size limit is very small. I took a lot of photos, I'll try to resize a few but I don't have a lot of time right now. Perhaps it will be quick and easy.
