With a bracket from a parts 610D, i was able to mount a EFN lamp in my Bolex. The brightness on a screen with the conversion is a bit less and with a slightly greenish tint, than it is from the old spaceman lamp. Any thoughts on why that would be? Both lamps are 8v 50w.

Hi Barry,
I used an osram bulb and found mine nice and bright, even brighter than the robbie robot original on mine....
however, I also found in my case using the QLV1 didn't exactly fit correctly. I still need to do some small mod on this when i get a chance, but one thing i noticed is that the EFM bulbs can be "focused" better sometimes.
What i mean is that if i fiddle with the alignment of my bulb, it points more straight and gets brighter. If one is not pointed correctly forward, even out slightly, it darkens quite a bit.
I think the robbie robot is more direct pointing and so you may want to try changing the bulb ever so slightly...
Here some more info from Janice on this conversion:

Oh oh. May be a moot point. Seem to have lost voltage to lamp. Don't know what could have caused that. Only read about one volt. Motor start seems sluggish on start also. Dialed to projector via the voltage dial from 117 to 125 and that cured sluggish motor but still no lamp. I had to unbolt and move transformer to fasten bolts for conversion lamp bracket and maybe loosened a wire.
