They already have returned. They are called Marvel Super Heroes Star Wars etc No plot no dialogue worth talking anout just silly costumes and millions of dollars of special effects. Now that the bulk of box office receipts come from overseas we can expect more of the same until the bubble bursts 😫😫

No - what the WSJ article was referring to is the growing interest in REAL, OLD (ex, Charlie Chaplin) silent movies.
What is being done is the movies are shown with a live pianist, organist, etc supplying the background music.
Seems that the younger generation find this venue quite interesting, and enjoy watching.
