Having joined in briefly on Paul's very good thread regarding digests, two things i mentioned,(one elsewhere),one was when i said i wished i had bought Jurassic park when i could, the other is my Wanted ad for the scope trailer of Inception.

HOW COULD I/WE FORGET STEVE AT THE REEL IMAGE????

Both of these are available to order brand new, (Jurassic park in stereo). Aside this i know many people already know this, but i would like to remind people on here that Steve has NEVER made a single cent out of any of the digests, cartoons or trailers that he releases, he does it because he loves the hobby and supports it 100%, believe your bottom dollars that what Steve does for us all is well and truly for the love of the hobby, we are fortunate that it is also Steve hobby.

I am guilty of allowing my subscription to Steve to subside, this will now be sorted!!
Of course, these titles are only two of many that are available new, i know they can be expensive for obvious reasons but my point is, trailers, shorts and features are still available and i have also missed this fact.
Jurassic park,(my Daughters all time favourite movie),is over my own budget but the fact is, it is still out there to buy new along with a host of other titles.

Steve, if you do look in here, thank you on everyone's behalf for continuing to support this hobby with brand new titles.
My first purchase from you, Grease scope/stereo full length is still one of my top titles in my collection.

When i re-manufactured brand new Elmo ST120HD 24fps clutch wheels, i also sold them at cost price. What it did was give me a huge buzz that i was able to help keep a dozen projectors going, including my own.

Oh....

-actually I'm hiding from Steve Osborne right now: I owe him an article for The Reel Image! [Wink]

-but he's a gentleman, and I'm sure that includes a measure of forgiveness! (The latest edition certainly didn't need my help anyway!)

What we do is simply impossible. You ask the average guy or gal on the street and they'll tell you: "Nobody does that any more." as if we were treating disease with leeches or writing with a chisel.

Steve is in the lead here: he does what seems impossible even to the rest of us!

This work also allow this format to stay actual and have a longest life. I have collect a lot a different object and always it's because of the fan that the hobby become more enjoyable, they give a another dimension and more posibilities to the hobby.

And Tom, you need to be patient if you want to found what you looking for at a good price. I think it's always more enjoyable to found something by inadvertance (even wenn it's came from a heritage).

Does the work of David baker the same as Paul ? Because he also plan to release a Jurasik park reel.

Does this skills can be learn some where ?

Pierre, out of topic but I'm glad to read that you care about the survival of real cinéma. Since you're French, and I although I know you only like films from after the '80', I would suggest you to have a look at the 9,5 gauge. It was born (in France !) in 1922 and it would be nice to have young people like you supporting it 😉

Steve recently offered an excellent James Bond reel. It's the opening sequence to Skyfall in scope and stereo.

Steve Osborne has shown his dedication to this hobby time and time again. The Skyfall excerpt looks great. I'll be screening it at CineSea.

Not only this, but from what I know personally, Steve has actually lost money doing it at times.

When Gian and I did our "Saturday Morning Madness" release, we didn't make a penny. Actually, we lost money. It was only out of a love for the hobby that we did it anyhow!

Steve O has the same enthusiasm Derek had for 8 and nothing is impossible. A truly nice guy willing to surmount every hurdle to make things happen.

Steve O a great guy. [Cool]

Steve is great extending credit and trusting people. unfortunately there are active members on this forum who dont want you to know they have stolen from him or screwed him Thanks Steve for keeping S8 alive and extending trust to people.

FYI Jurassic Park digest is not released by Steve and the Reel image It's coming from David Baker and the Ohio Film Exchange.

" Steve O a great guy. [Cool] "

Can't repeat that too often!

When i was first getting back into the hobby, i don't know how i found out about the guy, but I got a used film list from him and he had not one, but two prints of "Hoppity Goes to Town" and he sold BOTH of them to me for 70.00 dollars. All the prints i had run into as of that time, were faded red messes, so I thought, "Well, maybe one of them will be good".

BOTH PRINTS were low fade!! One was the Derann release in excellent condition, and the other was the fairly rare Red Fox release, on agfa stock, and full length (The Derann version has never been full length, with six minutes missing from it).

From that glorious time on, Steve has had me sold on his integrity as well as friendship! You really will not meet many at his level of professionalism. They exist out there as well, Barry Attwood, Phil Sheard, but few they are!
