Anyone built one of these? I had a very enjoyable 5 hours building mine the other day. It has a Maltese Cross Intermittent, a double bladed drum type shutter, a single element focussing lens and projects a few seconds loop of Charlie Chaplin in "Modern Times" on proprietary film. Power for the LED lamp is generated by turning the operating crank so no batteries required. Available via eBay and fun! Not 8mm I know but I thought I would add it out of interest.

Obviously the designers had given great thought to their product including a special piece of film.
They say, "Takes you back to the old days", so why supply the film in widescreen ratio?

Super 8 fan? Yes!

Glorified 3D jigsaw fan? No.

Sorry Leonard, but my 5 hours would be spent in front of the real thing!

It's 35mm with the sprocket holes cut off along both edges and then re-perforated to accept the wooden sprocket. So it's a proprietary size just for this machine.

I see the film loop is only about 50 frames, so the scene is only about 3 seconds long.
Definitely a unique conversation piece for a home cinema.

As for the widescreen film taking you back, remember Fox Grandeur 70 was in 1929 as was Paramount Magnafilm 56mm widescreen formats.
