Hey guys, I'm auctioning off a print of "Walt Disney Christmas" and I'm wondering if you guys could help me out.

Because of some crackpot pushing my ratings down to 4.3 on one of the categorys, they allow the listing, but the say the "searches" may be limited. I'm just curious as to what that means, so if someone could make a link for me, see if you guys are able to being it up on searches as that seems a little suspect. I remember when I listed Ben Hur 1X400ft scope, not a single person watched it, and it is defintely an item collectors look for, so I'm curious as to just how much ebay "limits" the searches. It almost sounds like they purposefully attempt to keep your items from selling.

Well see.

I thank you for your time.

OSI

Boy, this REALLY pisses me off! Apparently, the only way this can be bid on, is if someone happens to happen upon it on any given day! I'm debating as to whether to cancel it. It was just stated today, a few hours ago, or ...

Anybody want a good copy of "Walt Disney Christmas"?

The starting bid is 15.00 not including postage.

Osi, is this a super 8 film? I don't see it in the newly listed 8mm films category for Dec. 11th. Are you sure you listed it? I mean did you click the submit button?

Yep Dan ...

After I read your post I tried to bring it up myself, and sure enough. No such luck, but when I looked at "My Ebay" there it was!

Osi, what is the item number. I find this extremely interesting.

Thee item number is :

250341657469

Kind of makes you wonder why you bother to even list.

Osi, I found it using the item number, but it does not appear in any searches I attempted. I even copy and pasted the title bar and it didn't come up. It looks like eBay is trying to get rid of you. This is no way to run a company. I think eBay is trying to make the small sellers jump through almost impossible hoops to run us off. This way they willl make sweetheart deals with mega volume sellers with flat rate/free shipping ads. They let buyers leave unwarranted negs and you have no way of explaining your side of the story.

Osi, have you tried using eBay's chat on the home page in order to talk with someone about this?

Here is Osi's auction. I challenge other members to try and find it using a search other than the item number.:

Osi, good news! Your film is now appearing in eBays search engines. I found it in the 8mm category and in your "seller's other suctions" and in a title search. Wonder what happened? [Confused] Could have been a delay at eBay due to high volume traffic.

I guess my conspiracy theory doesn't hold water. [Big Grin]

Have you thought about revising the ad and adding a hit counter. Photos realy help too. Good luck! [Smile]

Osi,
Are you interrested in shipping it of to Norway for 15 USD + PP?
If so, I'll take it!

Regards,
Knut.

I agree with Dan--high volume traffic or maybe system problems. I had the same experience listing on Dec. 11. Glad your auction is up and running, Osi.

Knut ...

(By the way, LOVE that name! Knut ... cool.)

I'd be happy to ship to Norway, I don't know if it would be 15.00, but that does sound right for shipping for a 400ft reel of film, but since it now has five people watching it, (and your the second to write about overseas shipping) I have to leave the auction up there on ebay.

That reminds me, I got my ebay monthly invoice. It was 28.00 dollars, but I'll be damned if I sold enough items for it to be at 28.00 dollars. I've been doing a test on ebay. This "Walt Disney Christmas" is the FIRST and probably only item I'll be listing this month, so I'll be curious to see what the january ebay fee will be. If it's way up there again, then I'll know for a fact that I'm being gouged!

Cool, you'll let me know.

Thanks I like my name, but i dont think it's very international, not that that necessarily is a bad thing. I have seen some weird spelling of it and also it seems to be hard-ish to pronounce for non-scandinavians.
Are you associating the name with Notre Dame or this guy(link)? or neither?

Knut,

Would you like me to e-mail you when it's on it's last day? If not, Dan Lail made a link to it directly via this forum, just scroll up to one of Dan's earlier posts in this series. I think it has four days left.

I just like the sound of "Knut", it sounds like the name of a great scandanavian detective film. It would sell over here!

Ebay once told me that our listing would not be seen as soon as we post it. It would take some time due to the traffic.

If you list an item internationally at Ebay UK, for example, it will be seen at ebay.co.uk first and after a couple days it will be on Ebay.com.

good luck Osi, it is $27 now!

cheers,

Yes, I happily noticed that.

I'm really nervous though. I put this copy up for sale, as I just won what appears to be a decent copy that looks literally brand new, and while this copy I'm auctioning off is very good, (I just finished wrapping it), I just hope, (major finger crossing) that I'm not letting go the best copy I could have, for one that might or might not be crappy, (as the screen shots from the print I have coming look good, BUT, for all I know, the screen shots could have been taken from something else, and next thing you know is that you get a pinked out print. It's the chance we all take on ebay.

I do know the print I'm letting go is quite nice, and it was my "keeper" print, and I have high standards for my personal collection, so I hope I haven't downgraded my personal collection.

From Osi's listing:

Osi, I am curious why don't you open your new (Sealed?) print now. And have a look what the condition will be.

My worst experience about a sealed print was finding a full VS contaminated reel which could not be seen from outside!!

cheers,

Hi Osi,
I hope that your sealed copy is quite good as your keeper-copy.
My second hope is that I will win the auction [Smile]
But shipping is after christmas and I'm not in hurry [Wink]

Best regards,
Michael

Winbert ...

It hasn't arrived yet, so I can't open it, hopefully, it will be here by Friday or Saturday, (that is, my new copy), but we'll see.

I did once buy a shrink wrapped brand new copy of "Goofy over Sports" and that ended up being faded, so, we'll see. I'm a pessemist, so I'm starting to get worried!

The "Walt Disney Christmas" continues to climb.

Okay - that's it for me [Frown]
Now it is too expensive...
Maybe next time [Frown]

Yeah, I don't think It'll go any further myself, but certainly happy to see where it has gotten to. it still has 19 hours to go.

I think there might be one last "gasp" at the last minute on it, but if it doesn't climb any further, I thank the happy buyer, none the less. they will be getting a nice print.
