Hi all, for anyone who may be interested i have just listed this item on ebay. I am on a money raising escapade to get a couple of titles i want to add to my collection.
This one starts at 59.99. It has great colours but does have some black lines,(as it did when we bought it).

Hey Tom, you didn't pick that one up from dear old Roger Lilley at Movieland did you? I hired a copy from him many moons ago, be a great coincidence if it were the same print.

Hi Stuart, no not this print, many of our collection is from Roger though, i sure miss those lazy days when i use to ring him on a Saturday morning to see what he had and he would say pop out after 1pm and take a look, i would spend an hour or two looking through and chatting. [Frown]

Yep, I used to love wandering down to his place in Hooe, past the GS1200 in the hallway whirring away while he rerecorded the stripe and just looking through shelves and shelves of films, like an aladdins cave wasn't it? I remember a rare occasion being allowed into his shed/cinema to marvel at his Heuertier projector,a lovely setup!

Thats right, we use to pop down there, in fact my Brother used Roger's company to release his first VHS video "Plymouth Chronicle of the Civil War".

We used Rogers company & Roger himself did the narration & it was written by my Brother Philip who has now gone onto write two books, the first Plymouths Forgotton war,

And now currently his first fact based novel,(part 1 of 3, with 2 and 3 in the writing stage still), The wrath of kings which he has managed to get into Foyles in London,where he signed a copy just the other day.Great reviews to, just so frustrating getting it into our local Waterstones, they seem to just put obstacles in the way even though they sell his first book.

I used to buy from Movieland too.
I bought a lot of films from Roger.
Also bought an Elmo ST 1200 HD and a Yelco 810MT projectors
from him. Also got regular film list from him.
I never got a chance to visit but really miss my chats with Roger
over the phone.
I sure do miss him as he was a very friendly dealer.
Sigh ! The good old days of film collecting now long gone.

It sounded like a wonderful emporium there that Roger had.
It would be wonderful to see any old photographs of Rogers Movietone emporium.

Has Tom, Stuart got any perhaps, or anyone for that matter?

Sadly no photos, but it got me thinking about some of the prints I hired from him, Grease, Stagecoach, Dark Star, Dr. Strangelove all of them in pristine condition. Roger would ask me to bring the projector in for him to give it a once over before he lent me a print! Think I had a Eumig at that point.

Hey Andrew, my first super 8 projector was a Cinerex SU10. It completely destroyed every film I had, my trusty King Kong 200' silent, you could barely see the picture there was so many scratches on it. I bought it from my mum's catalogue when I first started work, it went back more times, they kept sending it back saying there was nothing wrong with it, in the end I sent it back and told them to shove it where the sun don't shine. I then purchased a Eumig S905, I loved that machine, it got me hooked on super 8, the rest is history [Big Grin]

My second and first "grown ups" projector, was a 707 Cinerex. Dual gauge silent model. It was built to fairly high standard but as you say Del, the film paths were Gawd Awful!

The next one, aged 11, was an Agfa Sonnector LS2.

And so the love for Super 8mm and magnetic sound films was cemented and forever etched In my memory. [Smile]
