Mark

You will be lucky those title came faded when they were new let alone 40 years later. I did have both bought Westworld new from Derann 3x400 for £29.99 and had about 4 copies of Guns for San Sebastián before I got a half reasonable one

Both still had pink tints plus plenty of sand as it is a popular theme in super 8.

Before you ask I have never seen a non faded Lawerence of Arabia it also has plenty of sand.

As of course, many many did from that same era. You need to move on a fair bit in time if you wish to enjoy Super 8mm at its very very best in this day and age.

Hi Mike your right there.

Maybe I should stick with my 16mm Wesworld scope trailer.

Its LPP so very nice colour.

But enjoying the 8mm faffing etc again. ( small scale )

What can you do !!!

Best Mark.

Stick to the DVD mind you there is bound to be a blu Ray out by now. Funny the film seems a little slow when you are used to 3x400 version.

Theres a nice Blu Ray steelbook you can often pick up for the same as the usual Blu Ray.

Best Mark.

It's a freackin film forum!!!!!!

I have visions of you being buried under an avalanche of steel box blu rays someday Mark. 🤕🤕

Quite a few of us do, and do both.

You have to if you want to enjoy the wealth of great films not on low fade real film, or at all affordable after all.

Best Mark.

I do both, but I wouldnt l dream for one second that this is the time or the place for discussing steelboks, Blu Ray or any other such none sense on a FILM forum, for any amount of time.

There are digital counterparts galore for any such discussion and hopefully, they will last even half as long as this one here for FILM lovers, all being well.

Hi Mike I do have a fair few, but only buy one of a film I really want anyway, when on a really desent offer.

They remind me of the great super 8 packaging.

Best Mark.

You know there is no way of describing just how wonderful and nice Blu Ray can make you feel.

Film can be okish but wow.

Blu Rays just lift the spirit and fill you with happiness.

The picture clarity, the fantastic sound, no scratches, the affordability. And the list goes on.

Films is almost watchable, but come on how could it possibly compete with that.

There is a chap called John at the end of our road lost his job one day and had his prized classic car stolen and burned out 2 days later. dreadful.

He was distraught and so unhappy. So I gave him my Blu Ray steelbook copy of Zulu and you should of seen his eyes light right up.

Next time I spoke to him he said it had turned things right around for him. How sharp the picture was and the colours and sound made it all feel OK again.

I suggested he try Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on Blu Ray and hes never looked back.

I know just what he means.

He apparently never goes to bed without one now, and he even got his cherished car back. You would`nt of got that with film.

Oh Gawd Blu Ray is just so fantastic.

Best Mark.

That story would make a great country song. [Smile]
One day i'll go and get a Blu Ray player and Projection TV..one day!
I can't seem to bite the bullet though.

The only bullet Alan is Andrew blowing his brains out with the mention of bluray again on here!!! Ha Ha, Mark.

I've never been filled with happiness by my blurays. [Frown]

Actually, I feel largely the same whether watching bluray or DVD or digital downloads. Looks good, to be sure, but disposable.

Seriously I love film, but its all disposable, any way of watching etc.

We pop in, we pop out.

Ian sells us nice copies but its all just passing the time in happy ways.

I personally love the look of Blu Rays that originate from real film.

Lovely.

I think we can cope with a little satire.

Best Mark.

PS real film is my hobby though.

Got your email Nigel.

The mention of Blu Ray Mark M, phases me not, I love the format myself after all.

Whether it should ever become the main source of conversation here one day on the other hand, is a completely different matter imo.
I am however, more drawn to one or two comments here that simply leave me with a very sore tongue from it being well and truly bitten! [Big Grin] [Wink]

A certain Vesta Williams springs to mind.

Hi Andrew well I struggle with any sort of absolutism, or a feeling akin to being anable to say things in fear of a PC type taboo if you will.

Don`t worry Film can hold its own well enough on here.

I love film as much as anyone on this great little forum.

But I think the odd word or two relating to other mediums can quite safely be dropped in to any thread odd times.

If it can`t, then film, or we really are in trouble.

Best Mark.

All digi topic is good to read and enthuse over here Mark,so long as the forum never loses complete sight of the reasons for existence in the first place, hence it's title!

I think the success of this forum is the broad church approach. Most of mot all of us use an abundance of formats to view films/movies The digital input makes up the quiet times omn here when there is no cine. If there was an abundance of cine exclusive threads you wouldn't notice the traffic. Going down the road of censorship has been discussed before in fact there are other places in a land far away were they don't talk about anything but cine. Well actually they don't talk about anything really which just proves a point😳

So....can anyone help Mark find the films that are actually the topic of this thread?

Doug

Paul Foster has Guns for San Sebastián 400 original box you would need to ask Paul about condition.
