Shorty!!

Bob,

I realize this doesn't help now but I have seen these titles on the dealer tables at the CineSea Wildwood gathering. The next show is the weekend of April 27th. If you can't make it, I will let you know if I see them.

Thanks very much, Doug. I'm going to try my very best to make it this year.

Let's hope Shorty is there too!

Hi Bob,
I was pleasantly surprised to see a post from you here being an avid follower of The 3D Film Archive. I was also pleased to see you’re looking for headline editions of 2x CFTBL titles including Revenge! Should I take it that a BR 3D release of the latter is imminent? 😉 All I can say is it would be about time too... not to mention a BR 3D release of Friday13th Part 3 👍
Keep up the excellent work, you’re a legend Mr.
Best,
Rick

Hi Ricky,

Thanks for the nice words and I'm glad that you've enjoyed our work!

No, I'm just looking to fill a few gaps in my Castle film collection. I got my first reels around 1967.

Thanks again!

Robert,
You’re most welcome, your 3D work is ‘priceless’ and will ensure generations to come will be able to enjoy those rare 3D classics.
Well I live in hope regarding ‘the’ two 3D titles, I just hope they’re available sooner rather than later! Fingers crossed 😉
Good luck in your 8mm search.
Best,
Ricky

Hey Bob,

Well done finding those Creature Headline editions... now please sort out Universal and their remaining 3D Creature title for BR, I feel incomplete without it! lol

...and while we’re talking 3D BR where’s a true 3D BR of ‘Friday 13th Part 3D’, there must be many collectors, who, like me, are and have been waiting very patiently for those two titles. I can’t watch my VHD discs any longer, despite having two VHD players to play discs on the low def images are just too painful! lol

Best,
Rick

Thanks!

We've tried multiple times but Paramount home video had a bad experience with the 3-D Blu-ray release of HUGO. There was crosstalk on inadequate displays and they got a ton of complaints from people who thought the disc was defective. It's not but it's a very deep stereo image that caused problems. They later turned down a 3-D Blu-ray of HONDO because of that issue.

[Frown] [Frown]

Bob,
Thanks for the explanation.
I have HUGO 3D and it looks superb projected on my DLP projector! Despite that bumpy start to 3D BR for Paramount you’d think they would review the technology and the many successful releases from the other studios since, e.g. AVATAR and so many more, not to mention the awesome classics you’ve brought back to life e.g. IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE.
I’ll continue to live in hope but feel compelled to do a ‘home brew’ SBS of those titles many ardent collectors have already attempted. I will admit to prepping 5min test sequences of both ROTC and F13 and the results were acceptable all things considered (and certainly better that the SD VHD of F13).
Why can’t the studios who won’t invest in restorations of ‘wish list’ titles just hand over the assets to specialist outfits like yours, charge a licence and sit back and have the work done for them with virtually no risk to themselves?! Crazy!
Good luck with your continued excellent work Bob, I for one, am very grateful.
And good luck with your continued ‘Headline Editions’ search too...
Best,
Rick

I think any further discussion of 3D BR belongs in a General Yak topic and not here in the 8mm films for sale/trade/wanted section. Please feel free to start a a new thread there. Thanks.
