I still have that Sankyo 800 I tried to sell on eBay a couple months ago (3 or 4 times, with no success).

Before I try eBay again, is anyone around here looking for one? It's of course fully working, clean, with new belt and good lamp, and includes a carrying case, 800ft take-up reel, manual, test report and advertising brochure--ohyeah, and an AC cord. [Wink] The projector is set for US 110V/60Hz but can be used worldwide via a voltage selector.

$270 and it's yours... that includes shipping within the USA (rest of the world will get a discount on shipping). PayPal preferred... if no response, will list on eBay in a couple days. Thanx [Smile]

Jan,

I'm surprised you have had trouble selling it; do you start with a low price? I have found the lower starting price the higher end price! It is a risk of course, but it has generally worked for me.

I bought a Sankyo Sound 501 brand new back in 1980 and it was a good mid-range projector. I still have it even though I wore it out. I did run a lot of film through it however.

David, beats me... I too was surprised it was such a hard sell on eBay. Someone (I forget who) suggested it was a seasonal thing as I was trying in the midst of summer when people spent more time outside and less watching movies at home. He went on to recommend I try again in the fall/winter months which sounded very sensible to me, so that's what I'll be doing soon.

Kevin, remember I ended up with two identical Sankyos? One works 100%, the other works for the most part - it does stereo playback fine via an external amp, just won't record on one channel, also the motor control board is dead. Those are things I was going to worry about much later. In the meantime, the need for money arose and so I decided to let the good Sankyo go - only, it just isn't going anywhere! [Roll Eyes]

Jan, That all makes sense. I'm really surprised it wont sell at that price.
Yes selling film gear and films does tend to be seasonal as i have found many times over the year. More people tend to get their cine gear out etc during the darker months.

Maybe it's time to hit eBay with it.

Jan,

I've got 2 of these lovely machines on my list, both in lovely condition, the've even had 30% off on a couple of issues, and still no sale. I might even end up keeping one for my personal use, as they really are lovely machines, and they have a far better loading system than Elmo's, and there STEREO too.

Yeah... You know, you just gave me an idea. I ought to sell the broken one that I have, and keep the working one. My finances are starting to look up again anyway, thanks to overtime hours I'm putting in at work. [Smile]
