I don't think I've ever seen one. but there must be something like this out there. Does anyone have any recommendations? Or even better, does anyone have one for sale?

I can definitely recommend the CIR or Ferrania Std 8 tape splicers as they use rolls of unpunched tape so you will never find them obsolete as may be the case with some tape patch types. I personally use a Rondo std 8 tape slicer with a roll of CIR type tape fitted and it works a treat. Another way is to use your CIR 16mm splicer, apply tape to one side of the std 8 film then flip it over, finally move the film one perf to the left then one perf to the right closing the unit each time to punch out the extra holes compaired to 16mm. Worth giving it a go and again this method has worked well on my films in the past.

I don't think you see the R8 tape splicers advertised very often. I'll keep my eyes open.

You can also search in eBay Germany or eBay France-they usually got some good offers if they would ship abroad(last year I saw one for a CIR Std-8 in Germany). But again keep your eyes in the UK-Just before x'mas I got a Ferrania one from a woman in Glasgow for less than a fiver [Wink]
