I'm looking for an Elmo ST-180, ST-600 or ST-1200 projector. Must be fully serviced and in good working condition. I need something I can depend on for good sound transfers of home movie films. I am willing to pay a reasonable realistic price.

Thanks, John

Thanks for the link John. I forgot to mention, I'm in the US.

I'm sure shipping would be outrageous if the seller sold it internationally. Looks like local pickup only anyway.

Thanks again, really appreciate it.

John, with all due respect I would advise against the machine in the previous reply. Way too much money for this ST1200D...probably needs more than its worth, as it doesn't work now!!!!. May be needs new belts, or may be something worse! I wouldn't take a chance...the price is too high and so is the shipping! Did you contact Steve Osborne? He'll give you an HONEST deal. If you left a message, be patient, he will get back to you. [Smile]

These projectors are not appropriate for video transfer. You need something with a 5-blade shutter to avoid the flicker.

Ideally, you should find an ELMO TRV-S8 model which has a built in CCD pickup.

Here's one that closed on ebay with no bids - you might be able to negotiate the seller down a bit on the price...

John, I did the ebay route. I have an ST-600M I'm looking to sell that I got off ebay. I have no time to mess with an unknown condition projector. I'm looking for something that has been serviced and in known good condition. I do appreciate the tip though. Thanks.

Joe: I have not had the chance to contact Steve Osborne yet, been quite busy with film transfer work. I hope to chat with him sometime this week or next.

Steven Sigel: I am not using the projector to transfer the image from the film, only to capture the sound track. I have a high-res frame-by-frame machine for that. The reason I capture any image at all at the time of sound capture is to use the image as a visual cue for syncing the sound track to the digitized footage. Hope that explains my method of madness. The Elmo TRV is a little overkill for what I want to do with a machine.

John
