Hello,
I have a copy of the late Gerald McKee's book "Film Collecting" for sale for £5 plus postage. It's in good condition with its dust jacket as I have owned it from new (circa 1980). Please PM me if interested. Thanks.

Thanks Paul, I shall look out for them both. [Smile]

I have looked in Waterstones before now but to no avail on any of these titles or another I'm seeking from a different author.

Long since published, I know, so opportunities like these have to grabbed. Thanks again Paul! [Wink]

I have this book Andrew, and it is a great read, with whole chapters devoted to the various film gauges.
I also have Gerald's companion home cinema book which details the design of all the various home cinema projectors up to about 1950.

Remarkably Paul, I have gone from never seeing any of these terrific books for sale, to suddenly being offered both!

Once again, I am flabbergasted by collectors generosity here.
Thank you guys, I am most appreciative! [Smile] [Wink]

Hi Andrew,
Another PM sent. The other Gerald McKee mentioned "Half a Century of Film Collecting" is a kind of sequel to Film Collecting not so polished as it was apparently privately published but contains much detailed descriptions and reviews of films on collectors gauges.

The second one has just arrived Paul A.
This was a gift from Chris on here so again, I say a big big thank you to him for this!

The actual title of the one sat in front of me right now is,

Classic Home Movie Projectors 1922 - 1940.

I look forward to reading it in depth over the forthcoming week! [Smile]

I have all Gerald McKee's books.
An absolute "must have " for every collector.

I spoke with him not long before he died.
There was to be a second volume on the projectors
and one on cameras.
Sadly this never transpired.

However someone is rumoured to be doing the second volume on
the projectors.
I hope this is true.

Does any one know of this ? [Smile]

No, but I look forward to it, especially if it takes things right the way through to the very ending of all production on Super 8mm machines.

1995 will do it. [Wink]

The last time I spoke to Gerald he was so ill he could not lift his GS1200.
So sad.
