This was a difficult title for me to locate....Before Discovering Andreas and his website WWW.MOVIES-AND-SOUND.COM. I was forced to endure trials and ULTIMATE ERRORS on GERMAN ebay. Great if one speaks fluent German, and I found most dealers not willing to ship outside of germany. I did ultimately find Phibes, and the ebay seller was nice enough, although i paid over $200.00 dollars for the print(not knowing, i bid that much, OUCH! or in german "AUTSCH!")...not including shipping. The hassles of bank drafts, and exchange rates. Later, after i found Andreas,he saved me all the trouble and guess work. And he had Phibes for what i paid for LESS than the SHIPPING cost, that killed me. But who knew? Now the review...
AWESOME!!!!!! One of vincent's Best films and REALLY well EDITED! Contains MOST of the plague murders, except for 1 of the Killings.Which was the most dull of all, the "turning of the screw" killing. The track is in German, But it was SO easy to re-record since the scenes are LONG and basically full length sequences. The picture quality is Sharp,my print has Some good Color left. The negative used for printing was top notch, again superior. Once this film is recorded,it becomes a wonderful addition to ANY collector of the CLASSIC horror film...and you can't beat DR. PHIBES.When edited together, fills up an 800 foot reel NICELY! One of my favorite films in my collection. A side note, when re-recording these, one has total control over what is to be heard,thus,.... at the end of the film, after Phibes re-embalms himself for slumber, the music fades out and a crack of lightening is heard, and vincent's haunting echoing laugh closes the ENDE TITLE, NOW THAT IS COOL!

Boy, you really get into this, don't you [Smile] Your reviews are a lot of fun to read [Smile]

BTW if anybody ever wants anything from eBay Germany and finds themselves restricted by either the language or financial barrier - I may be able to help, and would be happy to do so. [Smile]
