THICKER THAN WATER with Laurel and Hardy
400'
Super 8 Black and White Magnetic Sound
Blackhawk

Not one of the boys' best, but nevertheless enjoyable. A bit more slow-paced than most of their shorts, this one has them at odds with Mrs. Hardy over money to pay for their furniture. The short ends with one of their most memorable gags.

The print is very, very good, with no washed-out faces. Very sharp, and with great sound. My copy has all original titles, so this is probably an answer print from Blackhawk.

I like this one, we also have a Standard 8 blackhawk print and of course this was the boys final short. [Wink]

One of my favourite Laurel and Hardy shorts.
I have this one on a 16mm Blackhawk print.

Mine too David, you give it him to give it to me.... a brilliant bit of word play with Finlayson, and that rather large frying pan "to cook his goose" great stuff.

Gents,

Do your copies include all original titles?

thanks

Except for the MGM lion, all else is original - Bought this from Blackhawk back when, choice condition - Important entry to the canon, being the last short (which in my opinion was a mistake, as Roach should have let them continue with shorts as long as they had a mind to. Features could have been worked on once in a while. Our Gang continued making shorts, why not L&H?) - Shorty

Mine does not have the roaring lion intro, but it does have the "L&H in" title card with Leo toward the bottom.

Considering that they abandoned shorts, the feature output should have been much greater, but it wasn't. 1937 saw only one starring feature, as did 1939. And as we know, Roach interfered too much with the features.

That's interesting. For years I thought I got something rare with the original titles.
