About 3-4 years ago, I bought some nice white card 16mm 400' boxes that Paul Foster was offering. Not sure if he still has any, but if not, he might be able to tell you his supplier, if the same size is still made. I don't think you are likely to find an 800' box. I've sometimes bought new boxes for larger 16mm reels or features, but they have been part of a bulk stock that a dealer has had made up by a box manufacturer. Very reasonable prices, around £1.50 for a thick card feature box.

Are these larger boxes still in stock at your supplier?

Most of the larger boxes I've bought have been obtained from Tony Hutchinson - who you might know of. I'm not aware of him having any at the moment, although he seems to get more made occasionally. Of course you need to get them in person as it would be impractical to post them. I expect anyone could order them, for a reasonable price, from a box manufacturer, but I expect you need to order at least 100 of a particular size.

Yes I've seen Tony at Film Fairs but do not think he is from my area, so if he does not post it is a shame.

I have seen cans, metal and plastic for sale but prices asked are high. Often cheaper to buy a (rubish) film and through it away just to get the case/can.

In fact Mark T. a dealer from Cleethorpes was selling 400' educational films in cartons for £2 to give a carton, spool and good leader and tails, at the last fair at Blackpool.

I can't say for certain that Tony would not post the boxes - if he had some - but I doubt it, as if someone wanted several, it would be a large and difficult package to prepare. They are only open at one end, so thay could not be sent flat.
