My little contribution to the 16mm film community. I have created a 3D printable model of an adapter that will let you use a cheap Bell and Howell super 8mm lens (28mm) on a 16mm ELMO projector lens barrel (40mm). I you have access to a 3D printer you can download the 3D file and print the part for free or go to a 3D printing service and the part printed for you. You can also order the part for my store at from $20.46 USD. With this adapter using the B&H 1inch f/1.6 lens you easily get twice the image size of the default 50mm ELMO lens. Both B&H lens and adapter are far cheaper than an ELMO wide angle lens.

I got mine printed for free at the University where I am a professor. Expect to do some sanding to get a good fit.

Download the part or order it here:

I have updated the design so the pins (plastic or metal) on the lens barrel of the Bell & Howell lens don't have to be removed or sanded. This will fit into the cut made in the adapter.

I received the Elmo 16CL lens adapter I ordered and it is perfect. I tried it out on a 20mm lens I had from an old Synchronics projector. I had to wrap a little electrical tape around the barrel of the lens to get it to fit snugly. I believe Julian originally designed this for a Bell & Howell lens, but the Synchronics lens worked fine. You just have to make sure the lens is seated perfectly centered in the adapter otherwise one side of the image will be out of focus. If you already have a lens... For $20 this is a bargain to increase the image throw size.

Don't know if this is still available but thought I would bump this up once more as it is a nifty item.
