I have recently been given a number of 16mm sound and silent films and equipment consisting of an editing bench including a Muray viewer, and 2 Bell and Howell projectors with a view to selling them and the proceeds to go to our camcorder club. for which I am treasurer. I have had a quick look at the films which are mainly B&W shorts and 3 colour features which unfortunately have gone pink. I thought I could check them all out on the viwer only to discover there are vital parts missing! As for the projectors, There is a 636 with no amplifier, transformer or leads, and an 8636 the all voltage model where the cover for the
ecitewr lamp has been lost and replaced with a bit of bent tin. This all came from a film society and I am amazed that such expensive equipment could have been neglected so poorly. I wonder if any of it is of any value to anyone or should I just tip it all? It is possible that the 8636 could be made workable
but is it worth the effort? Ken Finch.

Ken
You may be able to sell the projectors for spares but I can't believe you would get much for them. The cost of transit would be prohibitive unless someone could call to collect.
I would assume that few people now run these models, although I do have an 8636 which is used quite regularly.
Can you check the films on a rewind?
There is not much value in 16mm features that have turned pink, although the black & white shorts may be of interest depending on their content.

With so many other machines available it would probably cost more to get them working than they're worth. That's if anyone actually has the parts needed. If you're going to the BFCC why not put them in the for sale ection for spares. You might make a bob or two!

Hi Dave , I will probably do this.,and also at the Pimlico meeting.
I may have to twist someones arm to take it all there. Fortunately I have some friends who I can ask. At my age I no longer drive to these events and go by train. Ken Finch. [Razz]
