Hello!

Yesterday, I had the chance to buy a 16 mm projector for a very good price, it's a Kodak Pageant AV-256-TR-R, told to be in very good condition (and indeed its turns smoothly and lamp is functioning as well). As I am not into 16 mm, does anyone has advice on this projector, is there something special that I need to know about this machine? And is it a general good projector?

I have a similar model, the AV-12M6-L, which is a great machine. It is a European export model which runs on 50Hz and 220volts.
I hope your new projector is suitable for use in Belgium.

Yes, it seems to be, but there is no sound when I put a film with optic sound on it. Can this projector reproduce this kind of sound?

Is the exciter lamp lit? If it is not working or not present, you will get no sound. When you turn the volume up, do you hear anything from the speakers?

Hey Barry, sorry for my late response..
Yes, I hear a noise when I turn the volume knob. However, no sound when I pass a film through the machine, and I followed the correct film path as indicated on the projector (the "sound path"). The film that I have has optical sound, so I know not what to do more now to get sound... Any idea what it could be?

Turn the machine on, plug in the speaker and turn the volume up a bit. Take something like a business card and pass it in and out between the sound optics and the PEC. You should hear a "thump" from the speaker each time you remove the card. Also, if you have an MP3 player or old cassette player, try plugging it in to the mic jack or input jack and turn the player on. You may need to get an adapter jack. Do you hear anything?
