hi everyone, Recently picked up a nice clean eiki st/m , works well but the framing needs to be adjusted as even with the lever fully up the top of the frame can still be seen.Is this an easy straight foreward job or are special tools needed and would the claw need to be reset in the right position again after.

The manual under "Insufficient framing" says the probable cause is that the claw position is incorrect.
In paragraph S.1.4. there follows how to make adjustments.
You can download a service manual from the following site:-

Hi maurice, thanks for the reply.Having looked closer at it i've now noticed that the bottom tooth of the claw is missing so it only has one tooth to pull the film through so maybe this is the problem. It still seems to work ok but i would imagine that if i ran a film through it with sprocket hole damage it would probably struggle. Is it easy to get a new replacement claw or would it be easier to find a cheap non working machine and use the claw from that ?.

The projector has a loop forming roller below the gate so it should cope with slightly damaged film.
I don't think that new claws are obtainable (but I may be wrong!). I believe that Classic Home Cinema has some spares for Elf/Eiki whom you could try.
As you say, a non-working same model could be your best bet.
