I have a chart of Kodak date codes and I have really never tried to date any of my prints. My dad and I just watched Stagecoach today and the print looked excellent but my question is: the symbols on the film stock have a date of 1932, 1952 and 1972 and the film was made in 1939 so 32 is out but how do I know if it is 52 or 72?

Does the film stock say "Kodak" or "Eastman". Former, then probably 52, latter, 72.

It says Kodak. Thanks for the info....I will have to look at some of my other features while I'm at it.

You're welcome, but keep in mind I said "probably". I'm not sure exactly when the switch to printing "Eastman" happened, or if there are exceptions. It's just a rule of thumb I've used -- I think the switch to Eastman happened sometime in the '60s.
