Hi,
I have an Elmo 16-a projector at home. I've run it for a few hours in total and recently I noticed that the picture was becoming more shaky and that the projector was much noisier than usual. After finding that the oil bath levels were running low, I shut it off and haven't used it since. The manual says to use Elmo projector oil, but it's no longer available. What would be a good substitute for this unavailable oil and where might I be able to purchase it?
Thanks, Aren

My 16-A keeps its oil level on the line constantly and has done since I bought it nine years ago. It is imperative that the 16-A is kept vertical at all times in view of its oil bath.
If I needed some topping up I would buy some light machine oil such as that sold for sewing machines.

Spec of sewing machine oil is far away from original Elmo Special Oil. Therefore I would never concider to use it.
We still have special oil identical to Elmo´s oil available.
