Hi what do you need to run a 110 usa machine here in the UK please.

What sort of wattage transformer etc please as I think an eiki does drink a few hundred watts.

Thanks Mark.

Beside the voltage transformar you need also to remmember the electricity frequency where the US is 50hz. If UK is 60hz...it will run slower.

I knew there is such freq transformer but that is very expensive. If the projector runs with DC motor than you can adjust the speed. If it runs with AC, I dont think you can do anything other than to find freq transformer.

The frequency in the UK is 50 Hz so a 60 Hz machine with an ac motor may run slow. Projectors with 250 watt lamps such as the Eiki and the Bell & Howell require around 450 watts so a 110 volts 250 watts lamp machine needs a 5 amps or 550 VA transformer.

A suitable transformer 240/110 to power a 16mm projector will, if new, cost a lot of money.
Then, as mentioned, such a projector may only be designed for 60 hertz, although some can run on 50 hertz via belt change to a different pulley/s.
Altogether, not a reasonable project to consider, when there are many more suitable 16mm projectors on sale now.
