...it's the Elf ST/M and this weekend I was screening a film to some friends when 10 minutes in the film started to slow down and the audio sounded like it was underwater.

I assume it's either something to do with the take up belt or the cork lining.
I guess as as the take up reel starts to fill up with film it's weight increases which is probably causing something to slip.
Does that sound correct?

The belts are new from a seller on ebay, don't know if the type of material or diameter is correct.

The cork lining "seemed fine" but I'll test it out as soon as I can ("to put a single layer of film inside the drum and it should make a tight fit onto the steel pulley drive").
I've read elsewhere that I could try a thin layer of grease but surely that will make it slip more no?

If it is the cork lining does anyone know where I can buy a replacement?

Or is it something else completely that could cause the issue I have.

Thank you

The cork washer should be lightly lubricated.
