And if so has anyone tried what it says under "Treatment". Does it work or is it just ....?
I'm curious as I have a Star Trek tv episode with VS which I'm gutted about.

It's a legit way of keeping the acid and moisture in a film from auto-catalyzing and accelerating the breakdown process. It's also a little expensive if you have much to deal with. Acetate molecules break down into water and vinegar, and H20 is also necessary for the decomposition reactions, so absorbing these definitely helps. The colder the better, and storage in either open, cold and dry air, or use of sieves will definitely slow it.
