Found it courtesy of Thom Chin, it's called Sea Prisoners, a 1981 film, amazing as I can't even find it now on a Google search.

Hi,

You are very lucky to have good color copy. I have friends living in china, wenn they come back to see me they offered me a 16mm film. The copy are always red because they don't stored them properly and often in rusty metal box that accerelate the red processus.

In the futur, if you have other questions about a chinese copy don't hesitate to contact me. I speak and read chinese a litle and i know a lot of chinese.
