I posted some films from Castle Films for sale on eBay, and after I did, I discovered that two of them may be somewhat "rare." Both were offered by Castle Films for only one year more than 60 years ago. Would that qualify as rare?
One film is Hook and Laddder #1, a Terrytoon originally released in 1932. According to Scott MacGillivray's book, Castle Films released it as #404 in 1945 only. Here is a link to the item description:

The other is an Iwerks cartoon, The Brave Tin Soldier. MacGillivray says this was Castle Films #769 released in 1948 only. This is a bizzare cartoon. A soldier and innocent ballerina are shot by a firing squad and go to Toy Heaven.

Hi Alan, I've won from your auctions before. Those you mentioned are rare, quick selling ones which did fair at release time, but when CASTLE scheduled new releases for the following year (season), they weren't included. Some are short-lived, such as SKIN DIVING; SEA-HUNT and EXPOSE SLEIGHT-OF-HAND, the latter of which I'm still looking for in 8mm - Stay well and in touch, Shorty
