Why do most people dislike the Finney version, its better than some other versions and the songs are catchy.
Thank you very much, thank you very much

Graham,
I don't dislike it - in fact my missus plays an extra in it.
I simply prefer the older versions - Seymour Hicks, Reginald Owen in particular.

I agree with you Michael that the b/w versions are overall the better ones. But most reviewers seem to slate the Finney version when it is still very good entertainment. The Reginald Owen version is a nice short story of it. But my personal favourite is the Alistair Sim film, he delivers lines so good in it you believe that HE is scrooge.

Wasn't the Seymour Hicks version listed on ebay a couple of weeks ago?

Hi Paul,
Yes, there was a print for auction in Canada which ended last night. I was in discussion with the seller but decided not to go for it in the end due to some minor issues which the seller very honestly brought to my attention.
