Generally, the Singer/Telex machines (same design) are not considered to be as popular or desirable as the Eiki and Elmo units, or a Bell & Howell with a new design worm gear. They do, however, have an adjustable pressure shoe which can be useful running difficult prints. They are also quiet running machines. Bear in mind that the lamps are out of production, but there is one ex-Singer repair station in the US which still has parts.

The very first 16mm projector I ever had was one of those. Mine had been through the wars of heavy school use before I got it for $50 back in the late 1970's. Not a very sexy machine, but it delivers the goods and is easy on film. And it is quiet. I own a nearly new later model Singer that I like, but it doesn't handle spliced films as well as the model you are looking into. It is a lot cheaper than the new B+H models being offered for sale. I got one of those (B+H 2585) and won't part with it.
