A while back Brad asked if anyone could think of a better name for the combined 8 & 16mm forums.

Well as there was no response I am asking that question again.

Are you happy for it to remain "8mm Forum" or can anyone think of a more suitable name which takes into account the two formats.

The forum belongs to all you guys out there who contribute regularly so now is the time for you to have your say and perhaps give us some ideas for a new name if indeed you want it changed. The old URL "8mmforum.film-tech.com" wont go but we could have a new URL which people might find easier to remember.

Answers on a post card please etc etc etc [Big Grin]

Many thanks, Kev.

I don't want the name of the forum changed. My reason is that I joined, participate, and watch this site because of the 8mm gauge and the vast amount of information provided here. Nothing against you folks who are also into 16mm, but I don't read any of the 16mm posts, however interesting and knowledgeable they may or may not be. My video collection is divided between the VHS, BETA, and DVD formats...but I treat each separately for what it is, and I think of film formats the same way. Let me sum it up this way, if the name of this forum was anything other than the 8mm forum when I found it, I honestly would have never even bothered to check it out.

I can agree with you guys on keeping the name changed. Whatever happens is fine with me. Kevin asked for ideas, so I gave it a shot. Looks like the lamp burned out. Joe, interesting points you made there, I thought I was the only one who had BETA!
