I was just wondering if anyone from "Down Under" ever pops into the forum. If not, I wonder why. There does seem to be some super 8 activity over there.

Nick.

Yes, but it's so far away... a mere blip on our radars "Up Yonder" [Big Grin]

Still, I share the same curiosity. Anyone? [Smile]

An old friend of this forum is Trevor Adams from New Zealand (Lucky Guy!). Trevor is into collecting vintage projectors, such as 9.5mm Pathescope's, and toy projectors.

There does seem to be a lot of super film makers in Australia as evidenced by the membership on the filmshooting forum; http://www.8mm.filmshooting.com/scripts/forum/viewforum.php?f=1 in fact one of the guys on there has produced a full length feature on super 8. We don't seem to hear much from Antipodean film collectors though, surely there must be some...

Actually, Trevor mailed me to say he was having problems posting [Frown] . Perhaps this is something that Kev or Doug could look into?

Trevor, I can see that you have tried to post but there seems to be no text. This could be a browser problem.
Email me direct and I'll discuss it with you.

Kev.

I thought Trev was a man of words [Big Grin] . Talk about abstract simplicity, this is profound. [Eek!] Okay, I'll stop now. [Smile]

Agreed Dan, I'm still trying to read between Trevor's lines myself.

Yes, I better stop now, too. [Big Grin]

I found out you get blocked if your posting makes any reference to the things you tie your boots up with-you know...........I think 8mm collecting is on the way out here in NZ.However, some enterprising lads and lasses are shooting film.So maybe there is hope yet?I'm into old projectors/toy projectors and viewers/strange gauges/combined camera-projectors/subminiature cameras.
Thanks Kev/Brad/Mike for sorting me out!

i have just recently joined, i was pointed in this direction as i had come across some reels of the 72 olympics, one colour, one B&W.
anyway, i have not come across many collectors, instead i have encountered many film makers who have become inadvertant collectors. i myself have so far gained around 7 or 8 cameras, two editors, and other such strange objects.

while i imagine there are many collectors down here, hard to tell as we are after all "a blip", i like that one, i beleive many are older and troll the markets for items to re-sell at other markets. a small industry perhaps.

cheers, Gareth
