I'm starting to think that we have should have a separate "Fun with eBay" forum. Here's today's contribution.

Huh? I only hope the color hasn't faded.....if it is in color.

What th...!! [Eek!] Can we get a translator for this. Doug, with a title like that maybe you don't need a description. Maybe it's "Chiti Chiti Bang Bang" in German. [Confused]

That's Koyaanisqatsi and Powwaqatsi edited together with title cards in swahili. A rare print. [Big Grin]

LOL! You guys are funny. [Smile]
Anyway, my take? Note that the bidder (who's new to eBay) bid immediately after this auction started, probably before it even showed up in any listings... I think the seller and bidder know each other and made up this auction as a dummy to test something out, maybe. Sure does make you go "What th--" though. [Roll Eyes]

Hey Jean.....funny you should mention those titles. Two of my favorite films that I would love to have on super 8. I really just don't know if those are them on that one bid. Let me know if you get lucky!!

All jokes aside, if you liked those Reggio films, check out Baraka by photographer Ron Fricke. One of the last films to be shot in true 70mm and is an absoloute must on super 8 scope/stereo

Chip: "Baraka" is available on super8??? [Eek!]

Back to topic: Looking at this auction, I have the feeling that this is some sort of scheme, between the seller and the buyer, to artificially increase the buyer's feedback (currently at "0"). In the early days of Ebay, it was dead easy to post positive feedbacks among friends. Ebay changed that a few years ago, enabling feedback only linked to successfull sales.

No Baraka is not available. I actually sent the DVD to Steve Osborne for his input. Maybe there's some hope for the future. But realisticly, highly unlikely which is unfortunate. For those who haven't seen it, it's the essence of life. The scenes (and music) of the death camps at Aushvitz just grabbed me. The movie is visually stunning and should not be missed.
