an old camera man told me once that mothballs are key to storing cameras, protecting your lenses from bacteria.

A clean box with a couple of balls would equal or better an expensive drybox.

with that, i've been putting some with my films too.
so far. the only problem is the strong odour that follows my cameras when im out shooting.

well. any opinions on this?

No problem with using them on equipment, but I would certainly reconsideruseage with films. The strong odour is camphor, and this chemical may just harm the emulsions printed on the film base. That is of course an opinion from an old stager-myself!!

Just how do you extract them from the moths?

Q. If you've got a moth ball in your left hand and a moth ball in your right hand, what have you got?

A. The undivided attention of a moth! [Big Grin]
