Hi, to our American friend, HAPPY 4 of JULY. Would any of you lads over there know if Reel Image is still in business.I phoned him about a week ago and have had no reply from him or maybe he does not answer long distance calls. Thanks for any information.

Alex,

Thank you for the July 4th greeting! I just received an order from Steve, so yes, he's still in business. I believe Mark is correct in that Steve is currently traveling.

HI out there!

In fact, I believe that Steve is out there getting ahold of a couple of collections he told me about, in which are some tasty optical sound super 8 morsels, (and this person was a collector that took good care of his stuff, but he's gotten to the age where he can't operate his own projectors and stuff, so
he's letting it go.

I look forward to the collections, but I also look forward to that awesome magazine of his ....

"Reel Image"

Don't figure, huh?

Steve is definitly a busy guy, but he always replies to my many faxes. He seems to be most responsive to faxes... This man works tirelessly for collectors. He does so many special things for us. He's my connection to Derann and Classic....he helps make the buying of new prints so much easier. When features are delivered to him, you can pay for large reels and he will mount the films on the reels for you.....clean and lubricate them...and then, for a small extra fee, send them to person who re-records them in stereo and does a terrific job. Steve is a good source for belts, bulbs, reels, splicing tape...that famous super screen paint, projector lubricant and so much more. He takes used films and gives credit for them on future used films or equipment purchases.....AND HE PUBLISHES THAT GREAT MAGAZINE. On top of that he's a personable fellow who is both honest and very hard working. He's been in business a long time, but he tells me 2007 is his best year yet ..which says Super 8 and film are alive and kicking. I'm expecting any minute a new stereo print of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade from him.

I'll second that wonderful email, Steve responds to me quickly and I'm always a satisfied collector - As I've been scribbling a little column for his publication these many years, we've come to be good friends and in the film collector's world, we need all the friends we can - Shorty

Hi. I would like to make it clear to all that I did not intend to question this gentlemans integrity but having placed so many long distance calls only to get a recorded message for to leave your and name and number and we will get back to you and they very seldom do ,leaves one skeptical at least for me .Alex

You know, I couldn't have said it better myself.

Steve is simply wonderful. He respects the hobby and he respects his customers. Period.

High five Steve Osborne!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
