thought ill share this 'gakken' magazine issue.

(above) 16mm width with circular spocket hole in the middle

a little intro on this magazine.
each issue of this mag contains a different science experiment.
eg, pinhole cameras or steam powered cars.

Issue15 has info on the history of projection and some old projectors.
unfortunately, the mag is completely in japanese but the instructions to build the gadget is fairly easy to follow.

you even get a sprocket hole puncher for future DIY prints.
neat stuff.

I made up one of these things [Smile] As the projected light is reflected off the image it is only possible to show a movie three inches wide! The projector has a beater movement but as there is no flywheel the picture is pretty jerky.This mag comes out with all sorts of interesting gadgets-try the Edison phonograph made to use waxed polystyrene cups [Wink] Trev
