Probably I missed something here.

I found accidently this Indonesian Vinyl which is said a mega rare.

As an Indonesian, I did not really believe that there have been 2 bidders placing the bid which now has reached $200 for a very rough LP.

So I search whether the 2 bidders are legal or only doing self bidding. Therefore I click on the respective Ebay ID but instead came across with the usual page, it only shows this: http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBidderProfile&mode=1&item=180173803392&aid=e***s&eu=9QcAkzGPg19myTXewQotrPExmH%2BZtg1CHA2h415LhXg%3D&view=NONE&ssPageName=PageBidder[/UR L]

There was no any info to what the two bidders have purchased previously.

I then visited the Ebay member search and click both bidders. But Ebay said that there IS NO that IDs name ("No exact match and 5 close matches for member: e***s") http://search.ebay.com/ws/search/MemberSearchResult?frompage=fmrshowpage&userid=e***s&fcl=3&fsop=1&fsoo=1&catref=C5&frpp=50&nojspr=y&sacat=-1&_trksid=m37&from=R7&nojspr=y&pfid[/UR L]

So what is going on?

cheers,

Winbert

Both the bidders are registered users on ebay, you cannot bid if you are not registered.

ebay have changed there format to restrict people from obtaining information about a buyer to stop rouge sellers spamming them with offers outside ebay.

With the new format you can only search a bidders history on certain listings only if they are bidding on one of your auctions or if you are bidding on one of theirs.

From Ebay

"eBay has changed how bid history information is displayed for higher-priced items. To help keep the eBay community safe, enhance bidder privacy, and protect our members from fraudulent emails, only you and the seller of the item can view your User ID in bid history. Other members will see anonymous names."

Craig,

Your explanation does make a sense.

But why I can still see some other Ebay members with their previous purchases? Does now member can choose to show or not to shoe their previous purchase.

Lastly and the most important, why I couldn't find the 2 above members using Ebay search (member search)?

thanks,
