A friend of mine is looking to transfer some old S8 home movies to DVD.

Any of you do this? Or, if not, any pointers?

Regardless of where the transfer is done, try to talk him/her into not discarding the film. Formats come and go!

A guy I know took a lot of movies in Vietnam during his service there, transferred them all to VHS and binned the film.

He said the VHS is "better".

(For the first time in history a copy is "better" than the original.)

I asked him what he was going to do when his VCR dies. He said transfer from VHS to DVD.

...and so the generations pass! Copies of Copies of Copies!

If she has quite a number she should ignore the figures quoted on my website and just make a deal with me direct over the phone, 020-3016-2039.
