Its taken us a while to a print of this film, just started screening it today Miramax/BBC films, if you haven't yet seen it then its a film I would highly recommend. The story of a forbidden friendship between 8 year Bruno {Asa Butterfield} the son of the commandant of the concentration camp and a young Jewish boy Shmuel {Jack Scanlon} I think its a film everyone should see, very good story and is well acted, a word of "Warning" though, the last part of the film gets very intense towards its tragic conclusion.

Graham,

I was impressed with the movie, which had the bad fortune to be released in the US the same time as a number of other Holocaust themed films. It's very well done, but I did wonder why all the Germans in the film spoke with a British accent.

Hi Doug
Took my wife to see it the other night, the tissues came out at the end, although its based on the Holocaust I felt that some aspects of the story, the kids just wanting to play and be friends and not being able to sadly still happens today in some countries.

Just thought I would add that after opening the doors after last nights screening I got talking to a couple. I asked them what their thoughts of the film, I do at times check feedback from customers, and listned to a story from a lady whose parents had survived a concentration camp during the war, she did add that the film might have been a bit much for them to watch so decided not to bring them.

So there you have it, you never know who is in your audience or their background.
