Thank you for the link -- a great find. I have known of far too many victims of changing technology over the years, including a dear family friend through full bankruptcy and so forth, because film or tape is no longer used. Some amazing engineering down the drain. So I feel for the lady who wonders if she'll have a job after 2010.

Why? Well, ask Kodak, I suppose, but my guess is that they were losing money on the Kodachrome product line for a very long time.

Did you notice the processing line in the video shots with super 8 film running through 35mm rollers? Looks like Dwayne's does all Kodachrome on the same line (just not at the same time :-) ). Also another shot of uncut slide film looked B&W, wondering if that's what it looks like before running through the dye incorporation. Either that, or it's really bad Internet compression!
