Just had a question because I'm new to this stuff and this is for a gift idea. Has the 1939 version of the Wizard of Oz ever been made into 8mm, Super8, or 16mm, or 9.5mm? Like the whole movie, and where could i find it? I know it was made into an 18min short version in super 8 but I was wondering if the whole movie was ever done?

Hello Marc,yes it was released by Derann Films of Dudley and was
very popular,it does come up every now and then.The film was
4x600' in col/snd super 8.

... and to add to that, the Derann prints are on low fade film stock, so your feature of "OZ" (should you choose to search for it) will retain it's lovely colors for longer than you'll live!
.. and, of course, there's nothing more fun than actually seeing it on an actual film screen off of an actual film print!

There are also 16mm prints out there, some in the original dye transfer Technicolor, others in low fade and still others that have faded. The 16mm prints tend to be expensive when they have good color.
