Great news. Paramount is releasing the 1953 classic western Shane on Blu Ray on June 04. Apparently the studio has put enormous effort into getting a meticulous transfer of this landmark film.
It will have to be good to beat my Derann Super 8 print, which is among the best S8 prints in my collection - just superb.

Shane Blu Ray release has been postponed until August. Apparently some movie buffs let Paramount know that they were not happy about the Blu Ray being released in 1.66 format (which was in fact the way it was originally shown in theaters, as masked off 1.33). So the Blu ray is being remastered in the OAR of 1.33, just as it was filmed. Good to know the studio is listening to its customer base.
