This is something I often think about,What Makes a movie a Christmas movie?

Holiday inn and White Christmas are labeled as Christmas movies, but only the ending pertained to Christmas

same thing with Its A wonderful Life it's only Christmas at the end rest of the film not related to it.

Captain Newman MD is not labeled Christmas film but has similar ending as White Christmas, looks like the same set.

I don't know what the criteria is?

Getting the Christmas feeling, that's it ... Gremlins for me :-) Gizmo in a santa hat, Corey Feldman as a Christmas tree ... What more is needed? The music should be Christmasy too

So it has to be clear whether: a Christmas theme or Christmas background.
