Sad yet another one leaving us. I remember him for:

The Black Hole
Avalanche Express
A Bridge Too Far
Cross of Iron
St. Ives
The Odessa File
Eduard Roschmann
Krakatoa: East of Java
Topkapi
The Young Lions

At least we have some of his films on super 8 to remember him.

Kind of making me feel older as more leave us.

David, for me,film and tv make entertainers immortal.I'd say just about everyone I watch-each evening-is dead-but still keeping me spellbound or laughing.

Let's not forget Max's stunning Oscar winning turn as the defence attorney in 'Judgement at Nuremberg'.

It does come as a shock to hear of their death though. Watching them on the big screen of course they never age. And suddenly they are gone.

Watch him in "The Man in the Glass Booth"; 1975. Was just recently put on DVD. I've never come across the 16 feature.

... and, of course, his appearance in "Deep Impact", where he played the estranged father of the lady news reporter.
