I know this is nothing to do with films or cinema but as it is about eBay and hoax bidders I thought it might interest Forum members.

You may remember the flooding in the Somerset Levels and a car which remained submerged for many weeks. After the owner was eventually able to recover the car he put it on eBay in the hope that it could attract some funds to help flood victims.

It now turns out that the winning bid was a hoax, and the seller has also been unable to contact those who offered lower bids.

It appears that eBay don't seem to be taking the matter seriously. How would they react if someone bid £100,000 for a GS1200 and then when they won the projector said it was only a hoax.

Maurice, Thanks for posting the article. Sadly there are a lot of idiots out there who think hoax bids are funny. Ebay talked about "pre-approved" bidders which I've never heard of before. Perhaps they mean the filters sellers can put in but they seem fairly useless.
