Just returned from a once in a lifetime concert by the top composer in the industry, Ennio Morricone.
Just one word. WOW. 86 years old and he was as enthusiastically conducting his orchestra as ever before. [Smile]

I was there too, and what an unbelievable concert it was! I think the hairs on the back of my neck exploded when they played The Ecstasy of Gold!! Just brilliant! Glad you enjoyed it too!

& we got it a second time with the encore, did you hear the audience cheer after the first time he did that one?

I know, it was incredible! You could feel the atmosphere as soon as those first notes started playing on the piano, as if the audience was struggling not to erupt before the end of the piece!! Someone posted a good video on YouTube of the encore performance (lost count of how many times I watched it on the morning after)! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gc11Uks8Ib0

I would have loved to have heard The Trio from The Good, the Bad and the Ugly too, but I suppose when you've written over 500 scores you have to be quite ruthless when selecting concert pieces!

he did indeed, and james i agree, the trio is one of the best, and the mission final was out of this world. The man is a genius, and to think of all those little tossers that come onto the x factor and other crappy talent shows and get so much press. What a world [Confused]
