Condolences to John Capazzo on the passing of his father. I had the pleasure of meeting John's dad during an outdoor screening at his house and we had a nice talk about this hobby.

My deepest sympathies to John and his family.

Doug

I'm so sorry to hear that. Your parents stand very large in your life for a very long time.

It's very hard to lose them: it's losing a part of yourself.

The good thing is after a while you realize you haven't really lost them since you are a part of them too and they stay with you. When I got a new job a few years ago I set up my voice mail. When I played back my message I was kind of shocked to find Dad's voice saying I wasn't available and please leave a message after the beep.

My condolences as well; John had told me at CineSea that his dad was dying. It wasn't unexpected, but it doesn't make it any easier. Best to you and yours, John.

Claus.

My sincere condolences to John. Like many of us here now, we all know how it feels to lose your Dad. You only get one and if like mine, he will have been the very best mentor and male friend you will ever have.

So sorry about your loss. From experience I know what things come up for us when our parents pass away.

Thank you gentlemen, I appreciate it. In addition to being a great father, he was the one who began my love and passion for film collecting in the late 70's. He'd run family home movies he'd taken with an 8mm silent back in '57 when my sister was born then; moved up to super 8 like most of filmmakers did in '65 or a bit after. We had two projectors at the time. Christmas '76 when I was a bit over 10 years young, I've received three Castle Films super 8 silent monster films and now the rest is history. Thanks again for the thoughts and prayers.
