I am in Canada. I am converting 8mm movies to digital formats. I have not been successful as I am getting flickers and the bulb on the Bell & Howell projector burnt out. Replacement DJL bulbs are very expensive and last only 15 hours. I have read a lot on line but unfortunately no concrete answers are offered.
Any suggestions for help?

Ousama...take a look at this video by George Tveden. He shows how to replace the DJL lamp with a halogen lamp.

I have done this as he has described and it's very easy. Here is how my conversion turned out.
