You never know how much these film are going to fetch. I have never seen a sound version of this film anywhere. It's no wonder the bids are rolling in.

Pasquale - Hope your dollar starters do the same! We laugh when we see opportunists price their films at a ridiculous price..... but if it gets there on its own merit...........!

This started at a sensible $9.98 - Naturally, certain titles will cause escalation - Shorty

Exactly my point,Joe. Sometime a film will just take off from humble starting prices. Lucky seller!

The fact that it's sealed probably has a lot to do with the high bids. I only hope the buyer will crack it open and enjoy the print.

That's insane but obviously the winning bidder really wanted that print. I used to own the silent version of that print but was disappointed that the Metaluna alien did not make an appearance in the digest!

And being a Black & White print it won't suffer from colour fade!
Still , that was a lot of money for what looks like a 200ft film.
Oh and imagine if it was faulty in some way but not discovered because it was still sealed!
But that's just being negative :-)
P.S. I love Sci-fi so I think if I had lots of money I would bid high too :-)

Douglas, thanks for that info. A B&W digest of a beautiful color film wouldn't suit me at all, especially without the metaluna mutant [Big Grin] Too bad all the U8 400 footers of This Island Earth that I've seen have faded to red [Embarrassed]
