This seller might be just right ...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/it m/super-8mm-film-she-wore-a-yellow-ribbon-1x400ft-colour-sound-new-sealed-/401264909433?hash=item5d6d409c79:g:QwAAAOSwA3dYh8Oo

But he might not. just because he has a number of still sealed prints of this (he opened one to take these screenshots), it doesn't mean that they all would have the same color as, you can have a number of film labs that produce the same reel, and they may not all use the same film stock.

I'm not accusing the seller of any wrong-doing mind you, just that the assumption may not be accurate. [Smile]

The assumption might not be accurate but I understand why the seller (Nigel) wouldn't want to open all of them to check. Sealed, never projected films might be more valuable to certain buyers.

I bought the two Mountain films from Nigel on eBay. I gave him permission to open the 400ft sealed boxes to double check that the colour was good and acceptable. They arrived today.

1) She Wore A Yellow Ribbon, 1949. John Wayne
2) Mexican Hat Dance (The Girl Most Likely), 1958, Jane Powell

Item 1 is on Fuji stock and the outdoor scenes are most impressive with their blue skies.

Item 2 was a surprise. Taking the film from its box I could smell Agfa, and, sure enough, it's on fabulous Agfa stock. As you would expect, the colours are as fine as the day they were printed.

I would probably not have bought these films blind had not Osi drawn attention to the sale, and had not Forum member Nigel replied to say he would check the prints before posting.

Thank you, Osi.

Thanks also to Nigel for sending a part refund on the postage for the two films together.

I've just bought She Wore a Yellow Ribbon 400ft from Nigel too, it came still sealed, I've just ran the first few feet and the colour is lovely, it's so nice to open an old sealed film to find the colours great so I've just bought the Mexican Hat Dance as well. Grab one while you can, Nigel is a great guy to deal with and all items were sent out straight away,Mark
